Turning isolation into expression.

Story

When the first Covid lockdowns hit, students lost two things at once: their social lives and their outlets for self-expression. Converse needed a way to stay relevant to a generation that was suddenly stuck at home, anxious, and cut off from the communities that usually defined them.

Action

The #CreateAtHome campaign invited students to design their own pair of Chucks and share the result on social media, nominating three friends to do the same. Each nomination extended the chain, turning individual creativity into a rolling wave of peer-to-peer participation that kept the campaign moving without paid media doing all the heavy lifting.

Ten student micro-influencers - drawn from illustration, fashion design, and architecture —-were recruited and briefed to lead from the front. They posted their own high-quality Chuck designs to their networks, then amplified the strongest entries coming back through their communities. That two-way role, creator and curator, kept the content standard high and the momentum sustained well beyond the campaign's launch window.
