INCREASE PARTICIPATION + REGULAR WEEKLY PLAYERS OF O2 TOUCH.
We made O2 touch the go-to sport for social, music and fitness through the O2 Touch programme. Targeting 16-34 year olds we took a multi-channel and inclusive approach. This included a year-round ambassador programme at over 450 centres in the UK.
For colleges, we toured aspirational speakers to inspire students to play, through their personal experiences. We then hit the road with a national fresher’s tour and saw students put their rugby skills to the test whilst growing programme awareness.
We then held x3 “Twickenham Takeovers” at the home of England Rugby to inspire over 1000 ambassadors. Attendees enjoyed playing time on the pitch, experienced a pre-match team talk from Dylan Hartley in the home team changing room and sat through educational workshops to improve their coaching and social media skills.
And finally, we ran immersive truck events with the O2 Touch DJ truck and inflatable pitch at key sporting events and festivals.
We helped grow the number of O2 Touch players in the UK by 20% within 1 year! This saw us increase numbers from 20,000 – 25,000.
From this new influx of players, we also had to assist with centre expansion, seeing the number of O2 Touch centres in UK grow from 400 in July 2017 to 460 in July 2018.
